Thank you to the families who joined us for our recent toilet learning workshop. It gave us a chance to talk about a milestone that can bring excitement, questions, accidents, and plenty of small victories.
Every child approaches toilet learning at their own pace. Rather than focusing on a particular age, we encourage families to notice signs of readiness, such as an interest in the bathroom, awareness of a wet diaper, or a growing ability to manage clothing independently.
A shared plan between home and school can help children feel secure. Using familiar words and routines, offering clothing that is easy to pull up and down, and responding calmly to accidents all make the experience more predictable. Consistency matters, and so does flexibility as we learn what each child needs.
